A work roster that changes each month

Daniel Arochena · Creator of Calendaro

Plan a specific period with overnight shifts, check dates and maintain the calendar without duplicates.

Define the actual period

Fictional example: mornings on 2 and 3 November 2026, 07:00–15:00; a night on the 5th, 22:00–06:00 the following day. This is not a weekly pattern: it is three specific dates. Use the workplace's time zone.

Write the roster legend and the dates for each shift. Do not include an employee list when you only need your schedule.

Avoid accidental recurrence

Request one-off events for irregular dates. Open each in the review and check frequency, start date and start/end times. The night shift should indicate ending the next day.

If you work on a public holiday, do not exclude it. For a genuinely fixed block, use weekly with its days and block end date; do not approximate a complex rotation as one week.

Share it and receive the next month

Create the link once the review matches the roster. If sharing at home, omit unnecessary employer notes: anyone with the link can read its events.

When another month arrives, decide whether to edit the existing calendar or create a separate one to keep the previous period. Editing keeps the address; another calendar needs another subscription. Check overlaps before adding both.

Check important changes

Compare events with the official roster, especially nights and clock changes. Calendaro is not a time-tracking record and does not calculate rest periods or pay.

Communicate urgent changes directly: Apple or Google may not have checked the feed again. For a mismatch, check dates and time zone in Calendaro before changing every time.
